# Landmarks

Major geographic features of note.

# The First Mountain

The First Mountain is among the oldest and tallest mountains in The Table, located in the central-eastern portion of the main continent. It is located adjacent to the Source, the spring where the [Minnoar](https://bookstack.home.mwr247.com/books/elves-minnoar) first emerged, and has rivers connecting both to the east and west. It is also the location of the Elven capital of Eithel.

# The Inher River

Major dividing river creating a natural boundary between the Fleur and the Hongsu. The river is known for being very wide but not particularly fast or difficult to cross. It fees into a lake system to the East and flows into the major lake (?????) to the South.

There is a major crossing point between the two citadels of Sisteron and Hwando. A neutral city sits on the river between them offering a space of no government oversight.

# Cœur Lake

The largest lake on The Table. It connects to [The Inher River](https://bookstack.home.mwr247.com/books/landmarks/page/the-inher-river) from the North and feeds into the Sang River to the south.

There is an island in the middle of the lake that is a holy site for the [Fleurs (Aasimar)](https://bookstack.home.mwr247.com/books/fleurs-aasimar).

# The Sang River

This river runs out of [Cœur Lake](https://bookstack.home.mwr247.com/books/landmarks/page/coeur-lake) North before bending back ot the West and emptying out into the Mer Noire (Black Sea). The revier turns into a delta near the outlet into the sea helping form the incredibly fertile lands that help sustain the Fleur people. The river floods very predictably from year to year.

# De Grote Vlakte (The Great Plain)

The name for the large expanse of grassland on the far Western portion of th The Table. Homeland of the Thate people. The area is known for having hot summers and mild winters. The ecology of the area is similar to that of the American Midwest and animals such typical grassland and plains vegetation and animals can be found here. The ground is condusive to farming but very little of it is touched by the Thate for that purpose.

Tornadoes are a somewhat common occurance in this area but the Thate are able to predict the storms with some accuracy to avoid them altogether.
